![]() ![]() One moment you're fighting over a planet split by an enormous weapon, and the next you're travelling in darkness through clouds to find old hulls to scavenge, all before flying over sand dunes, and then shooting enemies over planetary bases. It sounds distinctive and it helps the game stand out a bit, and this is bolstered by the top-notch visuals. The music and colours remind me of Thor: Ragnarök. I really appreciate what Rockfish Games has built, it's a neat space spectacle just like its predecessor, with awesome sounds. Together with the side activities, the gameplay and the open world where you always find something to do, there is a really strong foundation. It doesn't like being in the same spaceship as you and makes that clear, and I liked this duo in the predecessor and they are great here too. I love that the AI companion, Hive, from its predecessor is back. The story is not something I found memorable, but it does introduce you to the action moments and offers opportunities for some amusing dialogue. Unfortunately, the story is the least interesting thing about this game. There are a variety of activities to do outside of the main missions, while the main missions follow a story that features 2D art, voice acting and characters. You can navigate the inside of structures in space, find secrets and solve puzzles with the spaceship. To accommodate this, the levels are both designed as open spaces and small puzzles. You are your spaceship and will spend all your time in the driver's seat. I found the Vindicator fun to fly because it is a small aircraft filled with drones to launch. The Striker is great at taking out multiple targets at once without being limited in size or speed. ![]() The Interceptor, as the name suggests, is good at fighting enemies and dealing damage without being slow or difficult to control. My favourites quickly became the Interceptor, Striker and Vindicator. There are many interacting systems you can tinker with, as all spaceships have their statistical weaknesses and strengths. On top of that, you can improve in categories like shields and other things on your ship, or unlock special abilities. There's also a class that allows you to paralyse around five spaceships in a sort of network with all ships in the network sharing damage. The bombers have what looks like a small nuclear weapon, the fighters allow you to do a lot of damage with their weapons in a short amount of time. There really is a spaceship for everyone, and I like that all categories are viable.Įach class has an ultimate ability that helps you clean up the battlefield. You can also choose lightly armoured spaceships that outmanoeuvre the enemy. You have spaceships with machine gun turrets and plenty of shields, as well as aircraft carriers that have an armada of drones to launch. The classes are divided into three areas "Light, Medium, Heavy". There are several classes you can use, and while in a traditional role-playing game, you are often locked into a single class, here you can change between them if you have the in-game money for it. In addition to upgrading your spaceships during the adventure, you can also buy new ones. You choose where you to fly, what missions you undertake, and how you upgrade your spaceship(s). Rather, you fly between larger open sandboxes, with each solar system allowing you to explore lots of both randomised and handmade locations. It's not completely open like in No Mans Sky. ![]() Now, he is a military clone on the run from a regime that wants to hurt him, and the big difference is that the sequel opens up the cosmos and lets you travel to solar systems at your own will. Gone is the constant stress of dying and starting from scratch, as here you take on the role of Adam, the same protagonist as in the original. We're talking about a new genre even though aspects of the original remain. The best comparison is the difference between Dawn of War and Dawn of War 2. If you played the predecessor, which was a rogue-lite, this sequel will feel both familiar and alien. This initial scenario helps the player to quickly learn the basics of Everspace 2, and I think it's done in a good and engaging way. Using your spaceship, you then knock out the jamming equipment that allows you to spool up your engine to travel away faster than the speed of light. There are explosions, neon lights pulsing from weapons, and a beautiful dance of colours unfolding in front of you. Everyone seems to be out to get you, but thanks to an unexpected new acquaintance, you manage to rescue a friend and escape the danger. You have been kidnapped and are trying to escape when a whole armada storms the base you are trapped on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Passengers departing from all other terminals can use the lounge too but will need to exit T3 and re-clear security at their departure terminal. The sliding miter saw could also be replaced with a circular saw or hand saw. You could purchase pre-surfaced boards to skip this step at additional cost, skip-plane the boards using only a planer, or even hand-plane the boards if you like a good workout.Ī table-saw is very handy for ripping the boards to final width, though a circular saw with an edge guide could also be used. To speed up the process of surfacing the construction grade lumber, I used a jointer and planer. For the legs, I switched to 2x10s and ended up with legs that were a little over 4" wide. ![]() A few small knots on the top are fine and can easily be filled with epoxy or Super Glue, but it's best to avoid anything large that looks like it might break off.įor the top and stretchers, I decided to use 2x8 boards which saves a little money and still results in a plenty-thick top at 3-1/4" thick and stretchers that were 3-3/4" thick. I tried to find the straightest boards without knots on either the outside edges or down the middle since they'll all be ripped in half. I spent quite a while sorting through lumber at two different stores to find the boards needed for this project. Unfortunately, the downside to using this type of lumber is the quality. The southern yellow pine boards for this bench cost right around $100 here in North Carolina. The upside to using construction-grade lumber is the price. The final version of the Fusion 360 plans for this video can be found here: Fusion 360 Plansįor this bench I used 2x8 and 2x10 construction-grade lumber and a piece of 3/4" MDF for the shelf. This makes it easy to get nice, tight-fitting joints during the final assembly. These joints are instead created during the lamination or glue-up process. One of the main design goals for this bench was to avoid the need to chisel out the mortises in the top and to avoid having to chisel or use a dado blade to create the tenons in the leg or for the lap joints between the legs and the long stretchers. This makes it very easy to adjust a few numbers and create the exact bench that fits your space and needs! This makes it possible to create and specify custom values (such as the workbench height, length of the top, top thickness, etc.) and have both the 3D model as well as any 2D layout drawings update automatically when the parameters are later changed. In this tutorial, I cover the design of this workbench in Fusion by creating a fully parametric model of the bench. For this bench, I wanted to simplify a few aspects of the traditional Roubo-style workbench and it seemed like a great opportunity to make an introduction to Fusion 360 tutorial. ![]() ![]() Watch for irregularities, fire hazards, leaking water pipes and/or malfunctioning equipment/machinery and reporting those irregularities to the Property Manager immediately.Observe and report any suspicious persons or activity to the Property Manager immediately and to local law enforcement authorities if necessary.Patrolling and observing the surrounding Budget Suites community and notating any concerns with the Property Manager.Compensation will start at $20.00 an hour for those who are qualified. Some argued parking minimums amount to a costly subsidy for cars, at the expense of space for people. The committee heard arguments from these speakers suggesting parking minimums increase the cost of development, which is passed on in mortgages and rents. Here's a screenshots from some a few popular native Mac apps: Clockwise from top left: Things, Reeder, iStat Menus, CraftĪll of those are great native Mac apps, but they're using custom UI elements all over the place. While I do sympathize with this, and the native controls are indeed easy to understand, I think we deify them a bit much and overestimate how many of our favorite Mac apps use them. One thing that comes up a lot when people complain about Electron apps is that they don't use standard system controls, which causes confusion. Love it or hate it, the web is not some fallback solution for a lot of people, it's the default. Design happens in Figma, and as far as I can tell, it's about half and half between people who have a bookmark and those who use the desktop app. Project management happens in a mix of Jira, Monday, and a few other apps, but we all use the browser for these. Document management happens in Google Docs, which could be installed as a PWA, but no one does. Literally no one else I've talked to uses a native email app on their work computer. This revelation surprises a lot of people at my work. I use it because I like doing email in an app, not a browser. It's fast, minimal, and supports notifications for new messages. It is infinitely better than using Apple Mail to connect to your Google account since it uses the Gmail API, and it integrates perfectly with the OS thanks to being written in Swift.I use a Mac app called Mimestream at work to manage my email. ![]() In short, if you use Gmail and happen to own a Mac, you have absolutely no reason not to grab Mimestream. It is written in Swift, making it much more resource-friendly and fast, in addition to integrating perfectly with macOS and supporting a wide range of keyboard shortcuts for managing your mails. There are no such issues with Mimestream. You've probably used an Electron app before, and it's difficult not to notice how sluggish most of them are, while also not integrating well with the OS, and sometimes even looking out of place. For instance, you cannot snooze emails, but given everything else that the app can do, this is a very minor issue. Of course, not all Google Mail features are available using Gmail's API. Your aliases are also synced automatically, as are your signatures, and you can take full advantage of Gmail's labeling system. With Mimestream, you get all of this functionality and a lot more. Without it, my Inbox is flooded with promotional and social-media-related messages that I'm very much not interested in. Whenever I try to manage my Google Mail account with anything other than Gmail, the one thing I miss the most is email categorization. Most of the well-known Gmail features on your desktop It's also worth noting that the app is written in Swift, so it will integrate very well with macOS and provide a much smoother experience than, for instance, an Electron-based app. Mimestream goes about it differently - it uses the Gmail API, allowing it to provide most, though not quite all, of the features you are familiar with from Google's mail client. ![]() ![]() Email clients that support Gmail aren't exactly rare, but the vast majority of them use the IMAP protocol to retrieve and manage your messages, which means they can't take advantage of Gmail-specific features such as inbox categorization, labels, and synchronized signatures. ![]() ![]() There are a few more things worth mentioning about PS Now.įirst, PS Now subscribers are allowed to play the games they’ve downloaded from the service while their system is offline.
